Mission Work

Short-Term Missions

Church or School Sponsored VBS - Opportunities abound to interact with the Guaymi and Latino children during a Vacation Bible School (VBS). Several hundred children have attended these in recent years.

Specifics - Because traveling to Panama is so easy, we encourage all to come visit. You can plan to stay a week or longer depending on your schedule. High school and college age students have interned for an entire summer. There is always something you can do with PCE in Panama, regardless of your age or skills. The cost of a flight to Panama can vary greatly, depending on the time of year and your city of departure.

What to Expect - Many come with a desire to give and to serve, and they do. However, they are so blessed by the experience they feel like they have received more than they could ever give. You can never "out give" God. (Malachi 3:10)

Long-Term Missions

There is always a need for people to serve on a long-term basis. One need now is for house parents to work with our female high school students. Another ongoing need is for an auto mechanic to service our much needed buses and vehicles.

How You Can Help

Come to Panama - Nothing can give you the scope of the need or the ministry like a trip to Panama.

Pray for Panama - No ministry can truly be successful in building God's church without the undergirding of God's people in prayer. The needs are huge, but we serve a God who is eager to assist us if we but ask Him. As God to grant wisdom to those who lead PCE to determine the areas of greatest effectiveness. Pray for workers to come for the harvest of souls for Christ.

Give to Panama - The ongoing need for funds is, like any mission, great. The only limits to God's mission is the limits placed upon it by us.

Adopt-a-Project - Vehicles play a very important role in the PCE ministries. Buses and trucks transport members to church meetings and groups. Without these vehicles people would be cut-off from the body of believers that they need to teach and sustain them in their spiritual growth.

Buses - $500/month per bus Used to transport members
Trucks - $400/month per truck

Used for construction

SUV's - $750/month per vehicle Many ministry tasks
Back Hoe - $400/month Used for construction and site work

Medical & Dental Supplies - As these much needed ministries grow, so do the needs for supplies to provide the services.

Containers - These containers are truly multi-purpose. They are packed at the Brownsburg, Indiana location and then shipped to Panama via Seaboard Marine in Miami. They are then picked up in Colon, Panama after clearing customs and then are unpacked of their cargo. Then they are used as housing for the institute families or perhaps to house the clothing store or something else. The PCE property is dotted with shipping containers that have been given new life as something else entirely from its original intent. Because of the hurricanes in 2004 and again in 2005, the price of the containers has risen dramatically.

A container price is now about $3,000 and the cost of transporting it to Boquete is another $4,000, for a total of $7,000.
